The project.

The purpose of Journey From the Road is to share the human kindness she encounters on the road.

She carefully writes about her experiences through her Instagram account. She also makes video episodes on her YouTube channel.

On her first part of the journey (Spain to South Eastern Türkiye), she realized that traveling alone as a woman, and on a bicycle, brought her a unique advantage.
Locals are more willing to approach her. More than a hundred families invited her to their homes. This gives her the privilege to experience firsthand the culture and daily life of communities from the remotest parts of the countries she cycles.
She has been told multiple times she was the first “traveler” in the village.
Having these experiences, she feels she has the duty of telling these stories.

In April 2022, she left her home in Zaragoza, Spain, with a bicycle toward the Far East and with no time frame.

January 2023 was a turning point for her. Her grandmother passed away. She flew to China for a few weeks and realized she was going to cycle until there, to her parent’s village, in Qingtian, Zhejiang, China.

That’s how the destination came into being.
From Spain to China on a bicycle, to her parent’s village.

Behind the project.

The why.

04.2022
I am about to engage in my biggest and most important project by bringing Journey From the Road to life. As humans, we are constantly in change. But deep inside, or at least from my teenage years, I’ve been unconsciously developing my adventurous spirit. In the last years, my curiosity made me take part in different journeys to explore my mental and physical edges.

This project is the result of a combination of multiple experiences and of the continual pursuit of inquisitiveness. Of having the courage of listening to my long-time suppressed inner-child and of deciding of letting my true self grow freely. Of starting to understand that time is a treasure, and therefore should be used consciously, meaningfully, and wisely.

I know I do have a privilege by choosing to pursue this project and I feel I have the responsibility of, at least, sharing what I see.
Uncertainty and hurdles will be present from day 1. In spite of that, I strongly believe this journey is worth doing.
